Give me revelation about the meaning of your ways
so I can enjoy the reward of following them fully.
34 Give me an understanding heart so that I can
passionately know and obey your truth.
35 Guide me into the paths that please you,
for I take delight in all that you say.
36 Cause my heart to bow before your words of wisdom
and not to the wealth of this world.
37 Help me turn my eyes away from illusions
so that I pursue only that which is true;
drench my soul with life as I walk in your paths.
38 Reassure me of your promises, for I am your beloved,
your servant who bows before you.
39 Defend me from the criticism I face
for keeping your beautiful words.
40 See how I long with cravings for more of your ways?
Let your righteousness revive my spirit! Psalm 119:33-40.
This psalm has become my prayer; the expression and heart of these verses resonate with my soul. In this time of preparation which includes purification, my heart longs for this connection with my Creator.
The assignment right now concerns cultivating gratitude. I live with a sense of gratitude for the life I’ve been given and yet, I am going through a time when gratitude only comes forth with intention. I believe this is due in part, to the ongoing shock-waves from this pandemic. I’m not one who spends a lot of time watching the news, but I’ve been drawn in. Even with a biblical worldview news source, the situation is dire. The weight of trauma and loss is great, and yet the Lord reminds me that this weight isn’t mine to carry. As I spend time with the Lord, the life-drenching process begins for my soul.

So, I cast my care upon Him (as often as needed), and begin to thank God for who He is, all He has done, all He is doing, and all that He will do. I ask for meaningful ways to be for those around me; and yet the tears come as I express my gratitude. It is at this point that my soul is drenched with life. God’s life is a tremendous Gift that can come in the middle of the darkness of death, bad news, and more loss.
Be encouraged today, God is great, and God is with you. As you press into Him with your gratitude, the weight will lift from your shoulders. Watch Him drench your soul with life out of His great love for you. With His love, the Lord brings peace which affords you the ability to perceive your surroundings through His eyes. If you are in a time of preparation and purification, take hope and courage, for this process has divine purpose; let His “righteousness revive your spirit.” What an honor it is to be shaped and molded by our Master Potter.
With blessings, peace, and prayers for you,
Jacquie ♥

Amen.

Amen! It is such an honor to be molded and shaped by Jesus. He truly has our best in mind at all times no matter how painful the circumstances are. He can use the darkest times to bring the greatest joy. After all, that’s what the cross truly is. It was and always will be the darkest moment yet through it God brought salvation and eternal life! Wow!

Encouraging and uplifting as ever, friend! I crave that same connection with my Creator. I think that’s actually one of the reasons I love creation so much. I feel Him near, and gratitude becomes more instinctive. I also love how you point how we often need to cast our cares on Him more than once. Sometimes I get caught up in the lie that once I connect with God I am done and no longer need to nurture that relationship. But it is ongoing. Thanks for the beautiful reminders, Jacquie ❤

Psalm 119 is my latest favorite these days of Bible chapters go. I believe for me it creats what you said:
“It is at this point that my soul is drenched with life. God’s life is a tremendous Gift that can come in the middle of the darkness of death, bad news, and more loss.”
