“I wish that all the LORD’S people were prophets and that the LORD would put His Spirit on them.” Numbers 11:29 (NIV).

Prophecy for me shows up like seeing the sometimes unseen. I ask the Lord to show me others as He sees them, and He does. And, I ask God to help me to grow in love and grace, that I may encourage those around me.

One of my favorite things about ministry to children, are the opportunities I am provided to speak out godly character traits that God shows me in His kids. I do this one on one at table talk time, as well as group time, because each child is given the opportunity to see one another the way God sees them. Other times the children are asked questions like; if they enjoy helping others, or if being kind makes them happy? However we identify godly characteristics, it usually brings about a desire in the kids to look for ways to emulate that character trait.

In this time of forced togetherness, nerves and patience can take a beating; for adults and kids. Even though we will sometimes say and do things that aren’t in the other’s best interest, the good news is that we can take a step back, ask forgiveness, and start anew. And, you may have to do this multiple times in a given day. The main thing is don’t give up!

As Mother Teresa said, “The biggest disease today is not leprosy or tuberculosis [or Covid-19], but rather the feeling of being unwanted, uncared for, and deserted by everybody. The greatest evil is the lack of love.” As you turn and give God your frustration and lack of patience, ask that the “LORD would put His Spirit” on you. Ask Him for how best to love those in your midst. Ask Him to show you how He sees that person, and be willing speak His truth over them and to them; and be willing to be persistent in love. Speak as a prophet, calling forth those wonderful characteristics that God is showing you. Pray for that one to grow in the way God sees them.

This is a time of unprecedented opportunity to speak prophetically in love to one another. I pray that we make the most of this time, for it too shall pass. Speak life, love, and pray for those around you. And may we emerge kinder, more loving, and with a heart to please God, as well as blessing those around us, as His prophets.

Blessings and Joy,

Jacquie ♥
