And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers and sisters. And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. What, then, shall we say in response to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? Romans 8:28-30 (NIV).
Isn’t that a great question? While viruses, pandemics, and other life stresses are real, the greatest reality is that the Almighty, the King and Creator of the universe is for us. God is greater than any threat.
Wisdom and love direct us to walk circumspectly (carefully and aware); such that we know the time in which we live. As law abiding citizens, we observe the mandate of social distance and cleanliness; and can do so without fear. This is true because we know that God is greater than anything that transpires.

If at any point you begin to feel overwhelmed by current events, or any “mountain” of trouble, loss, or crisis; try reading in the psalms, and scriptures on love, peace, and wisdom, to settle yourself. Sometimes (and I usually don’t feel like it in the moment), but I will put on favorite worship music and sing my heart out before God. It’s also good for the soul to get out in nature, to walk, breathe in fresh air, and focus on the beauty of God’s creation.
Speak, and or just listen to the One who is greater than what you are facing and feeling. Ask God if there is someone (family member or friend) that you could call who is shut-in, or just afraid that they will be forgotten. It will be a boost to the person you call (just the knowledge that they are being thought of is heartening); and in return, your soul will be nourished. We all need breaks from bad news and troubles. When we can give of ourselves, the focus becomes about God and the other; and I know of no better tonic that helps “the things of earth to grow strangely dim.” Suddenly, you are awash in peace and a sense of well-being.
If God is for us, who can be against us? Indeed.
You are greatly loved and God has you here to add the value that can only come through your unique personality, and gifting. May you be blessed as you seek ways to share the gifts God has given you on behalf of another.
Blessings,
Jacquie ♥

Thanks Jacquie! He is greater! We do not have to worry. I love Romans 8:28 that reminds us of God’s control even when things are crazy. We know He is working things out for our good. Praying you and your family remain safe and healthy.

This is my downfall, especially on days when I feel depressed. I know that prayer and worship will lift me out of my lowness, but I don’t “feel” like praying or singing. I guess this is where self-discipline comes in, something I need to work on.

So true, Sara Jane. That’s why I don’t always begin with singing. Sometimes I start by reading Scripture that speaks of God’s goodness and love.
The main thing is to remind ourselves that the sooner we press into God, the sooner we will experience His goodness. I pray His healing and His joy (which is your strength), for you and your family. 💕

Good afternoon, Jacquie. Gathering sisters and brothers to pray 7x a day for Lord to take the virus away. God keeps giving me messages to share online. Leading me also to do sidewalk preaching in this time of church closures. Praise His name!

God plans for us are perfect and through His justification we are made righteous. I troubled times we need to focus on the fact that God will not fail even when things seems to get worst. Even this current crisis that grips the world in fear this is the time for us to activate our faith while applying wisdom.

God is greater than, and God is for us, Who can be against us. Good post, Jacquie I loved the “giving is a tonic that makes everything on earth grow strangely dim.” thought and photo. It is a great time to show compassion to our neighbors!

Great discussion Jacquie! As the Apostle Paul writes, God is with us. Even in the darkest times, we know our Lord is so very close. These past several days, I have found myself more immersed in Scripture as well as music. God’s peace!
