For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways and my thoughts than your thoughts. Isaiah 55:8-9 (ESV).
Do you hesitate to say “I don’t know,” in response to those WHY questions regarding WHY God does or doesn’t do thus and so? This use to bother me because I felt that early in my salvation, I needed to be a good representative (I still feel this way), yet to me that meant I needed to know the answers to other’s WHY questions about God.
Somewhere along the way I came into contact with Isaiah 55:8-9, and realized that for some things (many things) we aren’t going to have the answers. Why? Because God’s ways are not our ways, His thoughts are definitely higher than our thoughts.

But we like to know right? We like the comfort of answers; that cozy feeling of being cushioned by well formed, clearly stated, made up, subjective answers.
By all means study to show yourself approved, and spend time listening and talking with God in prayer. Ask Holy Spirit to reveal the Truth in the Word, and how you can be a doer of that Word. Then rest in the fact that we serve a God of mystery. And we do not have the full ability to figure out the Creator of the universe.
Today I pray that we press in with peace and humility to God and His Word. That we will resist the need to have answers by making them up. I pray the love of Jesus, wisdom, grace, and joy fill us as we walk gratefully before the One who created all that is seen and unseen, understood, and misunderstood. And that we will say, “I Don’t Know” when that is the truth.
Blessings,
Jacquie ♥

Excellent, Jacquie. We need to respect that there are some things that God has chosen not to reveal to us. 🤗

Yes, it can be a challenge, but when I remember that God’s got this, it becomes a mystery that I get to participate in. God bless you Sally ♥

I appreciate when someone tells me they don’t know the answer & we can work together to find God’s truth.

The discoveries with others is a joy that wouldn’t be possible if we had guessed the answer. ♥

This is really good Jacquie! We don’t always have to have all the answers and we can be honest about that when talking to others. 💕

Yes, when I know that someone gives the truth as they know it, and won’t offer information they just think is right; I feel our time and relationship are valued. Blessings Dawn!

Saying, “I don’t know” is a sign of humility. Thinking we know all the answers is a sign of pride. Very thought-provoking post1

There are always a lot of why’s. When we don’t have an answer, being honest, humble, praying, listening for the Holy Spirit, and living in faith get us through.

Oh Jacquie, every time you declare this I ask Abba to let me see what you see. Earlier this evening my special friend asked me where I see myself serving in the kingdom or what exactly the Lord has revealed to me regarding His plans/purpose for my life. I was without an answer. In fact, I found myself agitated because this isn’t the first time he’s asked. A few minutes later here comes your comment. It felt like an answer from above.
Please help me pray I see what Abba sees. You’re one of a select that has given me this assignment label. For some reason, it does seem like a call I would gladly answer based on how Abba has made my mind and heart to dig and ask and search and study and read.

Dee, it is my privilege to pray that you see your calling/purpose. He has promised good works (service) for you (and all of us) to do, so I pray clarity of vision for you. God bless you richly as you pursue Him. ♥
