You do not delight in sacrifice, or I would bring it; you do not take pleasure in burnt offerings. My sacrifice, O God, is a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart You, God, will not despise. Psalm 51:16 (NIV).
This verse is counterculture. And Jesus is our antidote.
As we excavate character traits that create distance between us and our heavenly Father, the soil of our life becomes tilled and ready for healthy growth, a process requiring diligence, and willingness to acknowledge when we aren’t walking purely before God.
As you ask the Lord to reveal areas of your heart that aren’t submitted to Him, be still and listen. Write down any impressions you receive. Take these areas of your life, and ask His forgiveness. He will be gentle and kind, and lift the burden of wrong actions, speech, and or thoughts from your soul.

Jesus, your antidote, is saying to you:
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10.
Remember, Jesus died for you to be free from darkness, and not only will He not despise your brokenness, He will love you back to life.
Blessings,
Jacquie ♥

I love this as well. While some view brokenness with disdain, God uses it to reshape us with His love and grace.

This is great advice to ask, listen, and write down what we hear. That way we can trust God to help us overcome anything that is hindering our progress in Him. Thanks Jacquie! 💕
