Yesterday was good but difficult. I awoke with a migraine which remained throughout the day. My husband Ken, had a physical therapy appointment in the next town so complete with dark sunglasses I went. During these times, the vibration of my own voice is challenging, so I usually keep to myself. No talking. I had determined to be with Ken until he was called back for his appointment, then off I’d go to sit in a quiet car.
I sat with Ken until his name was called, and realized the waiting room was practically empty, and really pretty comfortable, so I stayed. Before Ken’s appointment was over, a friendly, talkative gentleman sat down near me. He began sharing that he served two tours of duty in Vietnam (bless him), and he had oversight of a team that did nothing but court marshals. After his tours of duty he married the love of his life, and taught at San Jose University.

It was a pleasure meeting this man, and I am so thankful I remained even though my intention was to leave. I’m still not sure why this encounter lifted my spirit, but God knows. Have you had times when you stayed, or did something, went somewhere because you felt compelled and it turned out well?
There are so many things that happen in the course of a day, that seek our attention. The challenge is recognizing these seemingly small, to great occurrences. I just want to encourage you to be alert today to the things that seem commonplace, and see what may come of them if you don’t prejudge them to be inconsequential. How could anything be of no consequence when we serve such a great God?:
Now may the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen. Hebrews 13:20-21 (NIV).
Blessings,
Jacquie ♥
I pray I will be alert to ways of showing His love to others. 🙂 Hope you feel better today.

I’ve had Migraines and they are no fun. But I’m glad the Lord brought good out of the bad when you met this gentleman. He has away of shining His Light and filling us with joy when we least expect it. Hearing another person’s story is always a blessing.
Yesterday on the way home I made two stops ( Walmart and the Dollar Tree). In both stores, I met unusually nice people. In Walmart I had lemons in my hand, and a lady there was so eager to get me a bag for the lemons. She even opened it for me. Little things like that are a blessing. In Dollar tree, the clerk was very cheerful and friendly. It was refreshing.
Thanks Jacquie! ☀️☀️☀️

Dawn, I’m sorry you’ve experienced migraines, but as you say, the Lord brings good out of the bad. The best outcomes seem to coincide with my willingness to go along with things, and not retreat because of pain.
I really enjoy those times in the marketplace when we experience kindness. I too was at the Dollar Tree yesterday, (albeit with sunglasses) ; ) ♥

Good point! I’ll keep that in mind, that even during times when we don’t want to do something we may have the best outcomes. Lol. Funny we both visited the Dollar Tree 😎💕

Thank you Perth. Your words resonate, I’m in a time of realizing how He steps into the middle of the mundane/miserable, and turns it for good. I love the way you worded this experience: “You were feeling awful and HE sent someone to lift your spirits.” He is great, and He loves you. ♥
